Mike Wijnberg

Mike, a veterinary surgeon by training, joined BQP, the pig farming business of what is now Pilgrim’s Europe, in 1995. He developed their in-house veterinary practice, went on to run an abattoir and cutting operation and later took responsibility for pig procurement, building supply chains for several major UK retail customers.

After a three-year period running SAC Consulting in Scotland, Mike returned to the Pilgrim’s business in 2018 as Group Technical Director. In 2024 he set up his own consulting business and is now putting his industry experience to work for a range of clients including Rattlerow Farms.

Mike is a past-president of the Pig Veterinary Society, was a member of the Farm Animal Welfare Council and has been an active participant on various industry bodies.
