Research and knowledge exchange
AHDB is a major funder of applied agricultural research and knowledge exchange (KE) in the UK. Our activity provides independent insight and evidence to support farmers and, in turn, the reputation of the industry.
Investment priorities
In 2022, AHDB’s four sector councils considered industry feedback on the priorities for levy investment.
The meetings culminated in the creation of four sector plans, which set out the work AHDB will address over three to five years (2022–27).
Ultimately, the work will help improve on-farm practices and make levy payers businesses more profitable and sustainable.

Research reports
Each project culminates in the production of a research report. Archived in the research library, the reports provide a complete scientific record of the research conducted and act as a source of independent evidence for many further activities.

Knowledge exchange
Our Knowledge Exchange (engagement) team helps to connect research findings with on-farm practice. In particular, they facilitate farmer-to-farmer learning through our Farm Excellence activity.
