ASF contingency planning: Workshop in a box
This set of materials contains everything you need to hold an African swine fever (ASF) contingency planning workshop.
The goal of the workshop should be to establish what would happen if there was an ASF outbreak and help participants prepare.
Attendees should go away with a clear understanding of what would happen if there was an outbreak, as well as a series of actions bespoke to their own unit or situation.
This could include:
- Updating or rewriting contingency plans to reflect the current unit layout, staffing levels and procedures
- Reviewing site access so it can be better controlled and/or simplified
- Updating records and making them digital where possible
- A clear plan for working with their staff and vet to ensure all records and plans are kept up to date
