How do AHDB Recommended Lists (RL) varieties perform in the field, and what can experts reveal about their potential? 

Our RL variety open days are your chance to hear non-commercialised insights on all the RL varieties and what they have to offer.

We will also bring brand new findings from our Ergot Management Review and the Planting and Variety Survey. Come along to learn what the 2025 harvest outlook is for your region.

  • Morning session: 10:00am – 12:30pm, lunch at the end
  • Afternoon session: 1:00pm – 3.30pm, lunch on arrival

This event will cover

  • Exclusive trial plot experience: Get an up-close look at how varieties perform in the field, listen to first-hand insights from the end users, and discover what’s in store for RL trials in the upcoming season
  • New ergot management unlocked: Kristina Grenz (Integrated Pest Management) will share the latest guidelines, how to minimise ergot risks, and explore key research gaps in the future of ergot management
  • 2025 harvest outlook: Millie Askew from the Economics and Analysis team will give us the first insights from our Planting and Variety Survey, what this could mean for UK grain supplies going forward, and a regional outlook for this coming harvest
  • Baselining pilot insights: Hear from your regional Knowledge Exchange Manager, Molly Bampton, on the latest findings in the baselining pilot and what lies ahead for the project
