Market commentary
- UK feed wheat futures decreased yesterday. The Nov-25 contract closed at £165.70/t, down £0.90/t from Friday’s close
- Chicago wheat and Paris milling wheat futures (Dec-25) decreased by 2.3% and 0.9% respectively. Global markets came under pressure yesterday when Argentina temporarily eliminated export taxes in an attempt to speed up foreign sales and generate much-needed dollars to support the struggling peso (LSEG)
- Yesterday, the crop monitoring service MARS lowered its forecast for the 2025 maize yield in Europe again, taking into account the additional damage caused by drought in south-eastern regions
- Paris rapeseed futures (Nov-25) fell €2.50/t to €470.75/t yesterday, in line with movements in the global oilseeds market. Chicago soyabeans and Winnipeg canola (Nov-25) fell by 1.4% and 1.3%, respectively
- China's purchase of US soyabeans remains unpredictable due to the lack of progress in trade deal negotiations
