Laura has been part of the Farmbench team since 2019 working within the North East and East Midlands to support farmers to get to know their cost of production better and look to improve farm profitability. This is done through both 1:1 work with farmers, and facilitating business groups so farmers can support each other to improve. Being from a mixed family farm in Northumberland, Laura has a keen interest in both the Cereals and Oilseeds, and Beef and Lamb sectors, with experience across upland and lowland systems.
Profitability and performance of farm businesses has always been a keen interest of Laura’s, starting her career at Newcastle University working for the Farm Business Survey, after graduating from the university with a degree in Agriculture with Farm Business.
Looking outside of the UK, Laura also works on international benchmarking and analysis for Cereals and Oilseeds.
