Dairy Antimicrobial Usage (AMU) Calculator

An online calculator to evaluate antibiotic use on dairy farms developed by The University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine and Science Herd Health Group.

Medicines used on the farm can be entered into the calculator and the products will be converted into commonly used measurements of antimicrobial use (mg/Population Correction Unit (PCU) – PCU and Defined Daily Dose – DDD). Use of highest priority critically important antimicrobials (CIAs) will be highlighted.

Note: Antimicrobial use data can be entered into the Nottingham calculator then uploaded on to Medicine Hub. However, the Nottingham Calculator is no longer updated and does not contain an up to date medicine list. Data can be entered directly into Medicine Hub which undergoes regular updates.
