Cover your bases: Grazing and soil health in an arable rotation
Join us at Lower Baynton Farm to hear from a trio who have been growing and grazing cover crops in rotation since before it became fashionable.
AHDB South West cover crop champion, Bob King, is kindly hosting to demonstrate his deeply integrated arable–cover crop–livestock system.
Tim White of Exlana will provide insights and data into how he utilises these crops and herbal leys both here and elsewhere in the county.
Dr Jo Matthews, local farmer and head of the Germinal Horizon Research Centre in Melksham, will be on hand to provide some clarity regarding varieties, mixes and sowing strategies.
It is hard to imagine how any more practical information could be offered in one meeting on this specific topic!
