Folly Farm, Shilton Road, Kirkby Mallory, Leicestershire

Join AHDB, Fosse Way Farm Vets and Virbac to discuss all things nutrition, grazing and cow condition as we look at making sure cows get back in calf to hit a 365-day calving interval.

Why come?

  • Take part in a farm walk at Folly Farm looking at what’s gone well and where there are things to improve with getting the Herricks’ cows successfully back in calf
  • Get involved in an interactive workshop with Rhidian Jones from RJ Livestock Systems Ltd., who will be answering your questions
  • Discuss fertility in the context of a grazing system, covering soil, resilience and having the right cow for the right farm
  • Catch up with local farmers over a light supper

We’ll be hosted by Eddie, James and Jo Herrick, beef and arable farmers, to discuss management of their 115-cow herd as they transition from Continental X cows to Stabilisers.

James will kindly give us a farm tour, sharing details about his grazing and forage management including permanent pasture, herbal leys and forage rye. Check out his YouTube channel to find out more about him and his farm.

Rhidian Jones from RJ Livestock Systems Ltd. will also be joining us to share nutritional best practice, including making the most of your silage, getting your minerals right and finding the sweet spot between forage, feed and fertility

Booking is free but essential via the link above.

Please wear appropriate footwear for disinfecting and walking on uneven, wet ground.
