Join us at this event, part of our Confident Strides series, for a practical, farmer-focused workshop aimed at improving mobility in grazing herds – both indoors and outdoors.

Whether your cows spend most of their time in cubicles or on pasture, we’ll explore simple changes that can deliver benefits to cow comfort, health and performance.

Led by Sara Pedersen, vet and dairy cow mobility specialist, this workshop will help you identify the early signs of lameness so you can take action to reduce it in your herd.

Through real-life examples and a walk around Leven Farms, we’ll look at how to make best use of tracks, housing, cubicles and cow flow systems to reduce pressure on hooves throughout the grazing season.

This meeting will cover

  • Early detection of lameness in both housed and grazing systems
  • Practical tips for managing tracks, gateways and yard areas
  • Bedding and flooring choices that support mobility
  • How to use mobility scoring data to drive decision-making
  • Reducing culling rates and improving herd longevity
  • Recognising and addressing the early signs of lameness
  • Practical flooring and cubicle management in housed herds
  • Recording and interpreting mobility scoring data
  • Using mobility data to inform management decisions
  • Strategies to reduce lameness and improve longevity

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from one of the UK’s leading mobility experts and to share ideas with other progressive farmers.

Lunch will be provided. Booking is essential – spaces are limited.
