Join an interactive session at SRUC where we will discuss the future of sustainable dairy practices. This in-person event will bring together key stakeholders in the dairy industry to collaborate and shape the development of the Dairy Roadmap's Sustainable Dairy Pathways report. Don't miss this opportunity to contribute to meaningful change in the dairy sector!

Background

Since 2008, the Dairy Roadmap has fostered continuous environmental improvement across the entire industry in areas including on-farm emissions, energy efficiency, water usage and waste management. We’re working hard to better protect our planet but also to drive social and economic prosperity throughout the UK dairy sector.

Pathways – A step Change for the Dairy Roadmap

As with any strategy, the Dairy Roadmap regularly reviews progress and re-focuses ambition.

UK dairy is on a sustainability journey and alongside gains to efficiency and profitability, there will be costs. The Sustainable Dairy Pathways initiative is a collaboration across the full value chain to highlight the route to a more sustainable dairy sector, whilst considering the innovation and financial support needed to achieve this ambition.

The aim of the Pathways Report is to provide industry-aligned guidelines on sustainability targets, whilst ensuring farmers and processors have the flexibility to select the methods that best suit their operations. The report will provide a trusted, third party authored resource to underpin discussions on sustainability and finance, informing future Dairy Roadmap targets for the sector.
