Wolfhall Farm, Burbage, Marlborough, Wiltshire

SN8 3DP

Join us for an on-farm meeting with farm business consultant Gaynor Wellwood to discuss the options available to you based on the findings of her work with Tom and Ant at Wolfhall Farm.

For many years, Wolfhall Farm favoured a spring block-calving system for their split block, which often restricted grazing when the grazing platform dried up during the summer months. Over the last few years, Wolfhall Farm has been transitioning to an autumn calving system. As part of this shift, they have added more cubicles and built an additional lagoon.

Wolfhall Farm has changed and adapted its system over time, and it’s important to understand what Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets to aim for to provide consistently high performance year-on-year for your business.

The farm team and its steering group have spent time with Gaynor (an independent farm consultant specialising in block-calving systems) analysing past and current performance, comparing it to the potential of the farm's land, cows, infrastructure and people to create a robust, repeatable set of targets to work towards.
