AHDB publish review of dairy market indicators

We publish dairy market indicators, Actual Milk Price Equivalent (AMPE) and Milk for Cheese Value Equivalent (MCVE) on a monthly basis with a quarterly update of indexed costs.
These indicators are subject to a wider review approximately every five years to reflect changes in milk composition, processing efficiency and costs.
We have worked with dairy industry specialist, Dr Ken Burgess to complete the review with input from a range of industry sources.
We have now completed the consultation process and interested parties can review the summary of proposed changes on the market indicators page.

The new values will be used in September’s Wholesale price reporting published on 25 September. We intend to dual report for a period of six months to allow users time to adapt.
