Boost your insights: Farmbench welcomes environmental schemes

Monday, 12 January 2026

A new feature of the Farmbench tool lets you include environmental schemes alongside your crop production. Whether these schemes are bolt-on options, land swaps or whole-farm approaches, you can now benchmark the cost of all enterprise types on farm.

This update allows you to both record the cost of establishing a scheme (such as SFI) and calculate net margin alongside your existing farming figures.

How do I upload the environmental schemes to Farmbench?

Sign in to your Farmbench account and decide which options apply to your enterprise.

‘Bolt-on’ options – Combine all scheme establishment details with crop operations (such as cultivation, drilling, and treatment passes). Enter all environmental income in the designated box, while overheads remain allocated under the combinable crops category within the costs section.

‘Land swap’ or ‘Whole farm’ options – Enter each environmental scheme individually or group them together. Record income in the designated box and allocate overheads to the environmental enterprises.

What benefits will this bring to my whole-farm reports?

Your whole-farm reports will now include scheme establishment costs and income linked to the schemes, making it easy to compare financial performance across the different farm enterprises.
