Reduced sensitivity of sterile brome to glyphosate

Populations of sterile brome that have reduced sensitivity to the herbicide glyphosate have been identified in the UK.

The three populations arose in situations known to be at a high risk for glyphosate resistance development. 

ADAS and Rothamsted Research led the research and details can be accessed from the ADAS website.

The findings confirm the importance of following guidelines to minimise the risk of glyphosate resistance developing in UK weeds.
