Roots to Resilience

Farming is changing every day, bringing forth fresh challenges and new decisions. The Roots to Resilience programme equips farmers with the learning they need to take their beef and lamb businesses to the next level.

What’s in it for you?

Farming is changing, and you want to know the best way to move your business forward.

In recognition of this, we have created the Roots to Resilience programme; this started with a three-day workshop in December 2023 and will continue through 2024 with events, podcasts and helpful resources.

The programme will equip you with the knowledge, tools and skills you need to identify business aims and plan future goals.

As part of Roots to Resilience, we will address a variety of topics, including:

  • Identifying worry areas to address
  • Improving communication at home and in your business
  • Establishing clear goals and a shared vision for you, your family and your business
  • Understanding your farm accounts
  • Applying the three secrets for increasing profit to your farm
  • Developing a clear, implementable plan to help you achieve your goals

We understand that the reason for farming is different for everyone and that it is not always linked to how much profit you make. Importantly, the course will also incorporate the environmental and social aspects of farming systems.

Discuss the undiscussabull™

In many farm kitchens there’s a bull in the middle of the room – what Elaine Froese, a farm family coach, has termed as the 'Undiscussabull' – the thing no one is willing to talk about it.

Most farming businesses know they need to talk about tough issues; they just don’t know how or where to get started.

If you’re stuck and want to bring the people in your business – be it family members or other staff – to the table to start the conversation, come along to Elaine’s world-renowned workshop, Discuss the Undiscussabull™.
