The latest report was not expected by the market to bring any big changes, and this in many ways has rung true. The focus of this report has been, as expected, on South American production of maize and soyabeans, considering the worst drought conditions in Argentina for 60 years.

Increased optimism over the extension of the Ukraine export corridor has been pressuring wheat markets this week. This is despite some support from US weather worries as the winter wheat crop may have been impacted by extreme cold/dry conditions.

This season to date (July 22 to January 23), total animal feed production trailed the same period last season by 6%. Livestock sectors face many challenges across the board, from rising feed and input costs to the impact of the cost-of-living crisis. The data shows GB animal feed production across the board for the sectors, is down year on year.
