Learn how to use performance recording to optimise ewe performance and health on a forage-based system.

Woodburn Poll Dorsets use performance recording to optimise ewe performance and health on a forage-based system. They have integrated herbal leys into their rotation and use data to appraise the performance of the business with their vet.

Synergy Farm Health invite commercial flocks and breeders to join them for a farm walk around Wooburn Farm to review what data the flock is recording as part of its breeding programme, how that can be used to the flock's advantage with ram selection, and how the data can be of value for commercial flocks.

During the walk and lunch we will see how even the simplest data can be used to drive kilograms off the farm and drive business progress forward.

Speakers

  • David Rendle (host), Woodburn Poll Dorsets, Centurion Poll Dorset and Breeders Group
  • Emily Gascoigne, Specialist Sheep Vet, Synergy Farm Health
