About the speaker
Lee Leachman is the third generation of the USA Leachman cattle ranching family. His grandfather was a prominent Angus breeder and judged the Aberdeen Angus classes at the Perth Bull Sales in 1956.
Lee’s father Jim Leachman ran the Hairpin Ranch in Montana where he developed the Stabiliser breed and built his business up to be the world’s biggest single-brand bull sale. In 1990 Hairpin sold 2,800 yearling bulls and heifers in 3 days to gross over $4.7 million, over half of them were Stabilisers.
About 10 years ago Lee moved to Fort Collins in Colorado to start his own cattle breeding business, Leachman Cattle of Colorado.
