This event will showcase the UK sheep industry, with hundreds of trade stands joining breed societies and individual breeders to provide you with an opportunity to network, catch up and build relationships.

Seminars and demonstrations will offer insights on new developments within the industry and advice from industry professionals.

This year's event is being hosted by John and Liz Peile at Greystoke Castle Farm. Farm tours will offer a unique opportunity to see how the Peile family manage the quality livestock and extensive, diverse grazing land at their family run farm, with the added bonus of the stunning views stretching out over the Eden Valley.

Young Farmers Clubs and local schools will be invited to educate and encourage the next generation of farmers.

The event is organised by the Northern Regional Committee of the NSA and takes in the counties of Cumbria, County Durham, Humberside, Lancashire, Northumberland and North and West Yorkshire, but everyone is welcome to attend.

AHDB is proud to be sponsoring and exhibiting at the event.

Greystoke Castle Farm

The farm comprises 2,300 acres of upland land, of which 700 acres is good grazing or mowing pasture. A further 1000 acres of grazing and 500 acres of rough grazing. All the land is in Entry Level Stewardship (ELS) or Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) schemes.

They have 120 Limousin x and Simmental x suckler cows which are put to Charolais and Limousin bulls with the calves being sold at around six months old as sucker calves.

In addition, there are 60 Luing cows living outside all year round; the Luings are bulled with the Simmental. The heifers are sold for breeding and the remainder sold as store cattle. All the beef cows calve in the spring with the dairy cows calving all year round.
