Soil secrets with Joel Williams

Join us and Farm Net Zero to talk all things soil, biodiversity and farm resilience.

We will be joined by dairy farmer Andrew Brewer and Joel Williams, independent plant and soil health educator and consultant, to discuss how rethinking your business through the lens of biodiversity can help unlock hidden potential.

Andrew Brewer and his wife Claire have run a grass-based dairy system for more than 20 years. Employing four full-time staff members, the business runs a 500-cow autumn block-calving herd, aiming to graze cows every day of the year utilising on/off grazing techniques. Some land is also let out for the production of potatoes and cabbages.

This event will benefit farmers across all sectors, from arable to beef, sheep and dairy. 

This meeting will cover

• Power of biodiversity made simple – from soil biology to crop and sward diversification – what are the straightforward, practical steps we can next take on farm? 
• Soil assessments and nutrition – how an integrated approach can unlock farm profitability and business resilience while lowering our carbon footprint   
• Farmer Focus – Andrew Brewer, one of the Farm Net Zero’s Demo Farms, will talk about his journey with sward diversity and soil health alongside Hannah Jones from Farm Carbon Toolkit

Registration and refreshments will be available from 10:30am, with presentations commencing at 10.45am. Lunch will be provided. 

Dairy Pro, BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attending.
