At this on-farm meeting, we will help you take steps to enhance your herd’s mobility while boosting profits and public perceptions.

Lameness can be expensive, requiring additional staff time and treatment costs, while also reducing yields and shortening the productive lifespans of your cows.

At this event, we’ll share practical, actionable ideas that you can implement on your farm to improve cow welfare, even when time and resources are tight.

This meeting is being jointly hosted by Belmont Farm and Equine Vets, Ceva Animal Health Ltd. and AHDB.

Agenda

  • The latest research around dairy cow mobility; Dr James Wilson, foot health consultant
  • Live trimming demonstration using the Dutch five-step method; Alan Colebatch, hoof trimmer
  • Discussion around the environmental risks of lameness, using a mobility mentor and benchmarking mobility data; Vets Charlotte Watkins, Nick Gibbon and Joel Galloway
