Countdown to Pigs Tomorrow
Monday, 10 April 2023
It’s not long until the Pigs Tomorrow conference, and we are excited about the line-up of speakers that we have secured for day two, which forms the Innovation Conference. This will be hosted by Dr. Charlotte Evans, Head of Engagement Pork and Alistair Driver, Editor of Pig World magazine.
A highlight of the morning session will be a presentation from Professor David Hughes, an international speaker on global food and drink industry issues. Professor Hughes will offer a fascinating insight into international consumer trends and how the UK should respond. This will be followed by a presentation looking at how to get more pork on consumers’ forks, incorporating consumer perceptions and purchasing behaviours.
After a short break, Amy Jackson, Paul Harris and Dominic Charman will share their thoughts about the language we use to discuss industry issues, developing your business’ reputation, promoting staff progression, extracting financial value from higher animal welfare systems and the barriers to putting net zero into practice. This will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A, giving you a chance to put your questions to the speakers.
At lunchtime, you can sample some of our LovePork recipes and visit our stand to meet staff and learn about the variety of services we provide to levy payers.
In the afternoon we open the floor to the ‘Young Guns’, led by Flavian Oberio, Vice-chair of the Young National Pig Association. The panel of young innovators will offer their hopes for the future of the industry and what they see as the barriers and opportunities to secure its reputation for future generations.
