England breeding flock remains steady moving into 2020

The total number of breeding ewes recorded in England at the 1 December 2019 was steady year-on-year, at around 6.2 million head, according to Defra data. This is in line with the AHDB December outlook.
The results for the rest of the UK will be released over the coming weeks, providing more guidance to the size of the breeding flock, for the 2020 lamb crop.
