GB lamb prices rise again

In the week ending 6 February, the GB deadweight OSL SQQ lifted just over 22p to average 580.6p/kg. Prices are now 150p above the five-year average, and 84p higher when compared to the same week last year.
Total throughputs for the week are estimated at 197,700 head, up 11,300 head on the previous week, but down slightly by 1% (2,100 head) on the same week last year.
The liveweight OSL SQQ lifted by 4p on the previous week to average 271.33p/kg in the week ending 10 February. This measure is now 73p above the 5-year average, and 32p above the same week last year. Throughputs at British auction markets totalled 99,000 head, up 1,600 head (2%) on the week before, but down on the same week last year by 5,400 head (5%).
Cull ewes for the week averaged £75.37/head, down £2.44 from the previous week.
