Showcasing the real stories behind British farming
Monday, 8 September 2025
We’re shining a light on the people and practices at the heart of British farming to help protect long-term consumer trust in British red meat and dairy.
Our ‘On the Farm’ series shows how farmers are producing food to some of the highest standards in the world, while also caring for the environment, their animals and future generations.
Running as part of our Let’s Eat Balanced campaign on Instagram and Facebook, the series shares positive stories with consumers who are thinking about changing their food choices.
This year’s stories
The latest series features three dairy farmers making practical changes to support long-term sustainability:
- Emma Furnival uses data to track grass growth, helping her cows graze outdoors for longer while returning nutrients to the soil
- Anna Bowen grows mixed pastures that naturally add nitrogen to the soil, reduce fertiliser use and encourage biodiversity
- Tracey Langston is planting trees to soak up excess water, provide cows with shade and shelter and improve the landscape
Together, these stories show how these farms are innovative, responsible and committed to producing good food in balance with nature.
Get involved
On the Farm is also a platform for farmers to share their own stories, connect with the public, and shape the way people understand British farming.
We’re inviting beef, sheep and dairy farmers who are proud of their work to take part.
The process is simple and flexible, designed to fit around your busy farm life. Sharing your story can:
- Raise the profile of your farm with a national audience
- Reach thousands of people online
Show the care and commitment behind British farming.
