During July UK fresh and frozen sheep meat exports totalled 6,200 tonnes, down 26% on the year, according to HMRC data. The EU remains the largest destination for UK exports, with 95% being sent there during the month.

This week Brazil banned exports of beef to China due to two atypical cases of BSE. As yet, it is unknown how long the restrictions will last; it will be for China to lift the ban, not Brazil. It could be a few weeks as it was in 2019, or perhaps longer.
