National pig club: Monitor Farm programme results

Our national pig club webinar on Tuesday, 28 March will share the results of AHDB’s successful SmartPork Monitor Farm programme which introduced Lean management techniques to improve how people work on farm, encourage business improvements, eliminate waste and make cost savings. The six farms involved have used Lean management to make a combined total of over £510K in savings and improvements.

Lean management Consultant, Neil Fedden of Fedden USP, and the AHDB Pork Knowledge Exchange team will give a presentation and summary of the programme, focusing on:

• How and why Lean management techniques were introduced to pig farmers
• How different farms used Lean techniques on their units
• What they have achieved
• Lessons learnt

There will be a question-and-answer session during the live stream webinar, and if you are unable to attend on the night, you can submit your questions in advance to andrew.palmer@ahdb.org.uk . A recording of the webinar will be available afterwards.

Our goal is to encourage and inspire more pig farmers to apply lean management principles to their businesses and reap the benefits.
