50% discount on new herbal leys and multi-species swards BASIS course

Beef, lamb and dairy levy payers can now get 50% off a new digital training course on herbal leys and multi-species swards. This industry-backed initiative aims to boost technical confidence in grassland management.

We created this course with BASIS Registration Ltd, NIAB and other industry partners.

It’s designed to help farmers make informed, commercially sound decisions about introducing and managing diverse swards.

With rising input costs, extreme weather and tighter margins, interest in herbal leys is growing.

Multi-species swards are being used across beef, sheep and dairy farms because they can:

• Improve soil
• Boost water infiltration
• Provide reliable forage
• Support nutrient cycling
• Maintain livestock performance

Successful implementation, however, relies on careful planning and management.

The course is made up of four modules covering the benefits, species selection, establishment and long-term management.

It combines technical guidance with interactive, scenario-based exercises that reflect real farm decisions.

This helps participants apply theory directly to their own systems.

Levy payers can claim the 50% discount by completing a short registration form.

A discount code will then be emailed to you so you can enrol. The code is available for 12 months (until March 2027).
