Bringing the taste of UK dairy to Kuwait

Thursday, 5 February 2026

January marked an exciting moment for British dairy in the Middle East. We partnered with Lulu Hypermarket Kuwait and the UK’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT) to launch a British dairy promotion across Kuwait.

Launch event at Lulu Hypermarket

Running from 14–20 January, the promotion was officially launched at Lulu Hypermarket in Qurain, with support from the British Embassy in Kuwait.

It was a great opportunity to highlight the quality, variety and credentials of British dairy products directly to Kuwaiti shoppers.

Lulu Hypermarket is one of the largest and most influential retail groups in the Middle East.

With a strong reputation for quality and an extensive range of international food products, Lulu provides an excellent platform to showcase premium British dairy to a growing and increasingly discerning consumer base.

A taste of Britain: Products and experiences

The promotion features products from 13 leading British dairy brands, including a wide selection of cheeses, yogurts and other dairy items.

In-store tastings played a key role in bringing the promotion to life, allowing customers to experience the taste and quality of British dairy first-hand.

Feedback from shoppers was extremely positive, reinforcing the strong appetite in Kuwait for high-quality imported dairy products.

At the launch event, Stuart Summers, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Kuwait, highlighted the high standards that underpin British dairy production, from quality and taste through to animal welfare.

These values resonate strongly with consumers in the region and are a key part of our export messaging.

Building long-term trade relationships

For us, initiatives like this are about more than just shelf space. They’re about building long-term relationships, strengthening trade links between the UK and key international markets, and ultimately creating more opportunities for British dairy farmers.

Kuwait remains an important market, and this promotion is another positive step in raising the profile of British dairy across the Middle East.
