International pig clubs – coming soon
Wednesday, 28 September 2022
Throughout the pandemic we were all forced to find new ways of working. One of the success stories from this was the possibilities that virtual discussion groups and webinars offered.
During one such meeting, not only was the concept of using technology to reach a wider audience discussed, but also the opportunity it could offer to engage with and learn from pig producers around the world.
And thus, we are excited to be launching a series of international pig clubs. These will enable us to connect you with and hear from producers and allied industries in different parts of the world, to learn about their production methods, genetics, marketing, public perceptions, health issues, government support and more.
We will delve beyond the generic information that is generally shared and get a real feel for the pig industry in each country we visit.
Our first international pig club will be on Monday 31 October, when we’ll be travelling, albeit virtually, to Brazil; this will be followed by a focus on Canada in January 2023.
Learn about the Brazilian pig industry
Our guest speaker for the first webinar is Dr. Guilherme Brandt, a vet and livestock consultant based in Paraná, Brazil.
Guilherme has been working with Brazil's largest producer of pigs and poultry, Brazil Foods (BRF), for more than 30 years.
BRF is one of the largest global food companies, present in 117 countries, with more than 100,000 employees, with one goal: offer a better life for everyone.
You’ll be able to ask questions during the webinar itself, or if you can’t attend on the night, please submit your questions to Andrew Palmer in advance.
