Real Welfare for vets
The pork sector council has acted on clear messages from levy payers to amplify our work on marketing, exports and reputation (including educating younger consumers). As a result, we no longer fund or operate the Pig Health Scheme and Real Welfare programmes.
Vets looking to complete Real Welfare assessments on their clients' units had to undertake online and on-farm training and assessments.
They also had to be registered with Red Tractor/Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) and the Pig Veterinary Society (PVS).
The online training was available by logging onto the Real Welfare training website.

You can also download and print paper data sheets (portrait/landscape) for recording Real Welfare assessment measures on farm. You can then upload the data to the database via the web portal.
