Video - Communicating British red meat benefits through menu innovation

Thursday, 27 March 2025

This video will cover three key areas of insight for the out-of-home market focussing on red meat:

  1. How to access red meat out-of-home volume data through the AHDB website.
  2. Key trends for menus in 2025 covering value for money, sustainability, healthier eating, experiences, global cuisines and quality & reputation. For each trend we explore consumer behaviour and attitudes driving the trend and what to focus on from a red meat perspective to meet consumer needs.
  3. How to best communicate the benefits of British meat through menu innovation including identifying keywords, images and/or logos for red meat on menus that are more likely to affect and influence consumer attitudes and choices. Results show that:
  • Pubs/restaurants have a role to play in promoting the reputation of red meat
  • Menus that talk about and promote taste also raise quality perceptions and vice versa
  • More descriptive menus can reassure consumers and boost perceptions of British red meat
