Health and welfare update: Lancashire
At this meeting, Claire Barber, one of AHDB's Welfare Officer, will be telling us about the changes that have been made to Defra's updated Code of Recommendations for the Welfare of Livestock, and what they mean in practice. We'll also be looking at our tail biting husbandry advisory tool (WebHAT) and how you can use it on your farm.
The WebHAT provides information about the key risks in pigs and practical suggestions to help reduce them on-farm. It takes you through a series of steps, to repeat on an ongoing basis, to help you and your vet monitor and reduce the risks. You can try the tool out at: webhat.ahdb.org.uk/
Cost: £30 per season or £10 on the night. Food available at 21:15
