Strategic Farm - decision making through challenging weather conditions

Join AHDB Beef & Lamb along with our Strategic Farmers Steven Lawson from Hexham in Northumberland and Richard Carruthers from Shap in Cumbria. During this live interactive event Beef & Lamb Knowledge Exchange Managers Sam Charlton and Nicola Renison will ask Steven and Richard about the changes they’ve made to their businesses, successes achieved and in particular the challenges they’ve faced during some very challenging weather conditions. Both farms will share how they’ve adapted their businesses to implement new grazing strategies and share with the audience their plans for autumn/winter 2020 following periods of severe wet weather and drought. This interactive session will ask the audience how we can plan for similar challenges in the future and what options are available? We will also be joined by independent grazing consultants Dr Liz Genever and Marc Jones who have worked with both farmers to share with us their top tips for planning grazing & livestock management strategies and how to develop a winter feed budget.
