Beef foodservice performance
Over the past 52 weeks, average prices per pack for beef dishes out-of-home increased +7.4%, leading to a volume decline of -3.0% year-on-year for total beef. This decline was primarily focussed on takeaways, with volumes declining -6.7% (AHDB estimated volumes based on Worldpanel by Numerator UK OOH data, 52 w/e 15 June 2025).
Volumes for meat centred meals (e.g. beef steak, beef roasts) grew 4.9% in this period driven by shoppers buying these dishes more often and buying a larger volume of packs per occasion. Growth was also seen for beef savoury pastries (+6.6%) and beef Asian dishes (+3.7%).
In contrast, burgers, which represent 46.5% of total beef foodservice volumes, were seen to decline -9.3% year-on-year. This decline was driven by a combination of a lower number of shoppers and lower frequency of purchase. Volume declines were also seen for beef sandwiches (-8.4%) and beef Mexican meals (-12.2%).

Lamb foodservice performance
For the past 52 weeks, volumes for total lamb in foodservice grew +6.1% despite a +4.5% year-on-year increase in average price per pack. This growth in volumes primarily focussed on dine-in dishes, with volumes growing at +14.0% (AHDB estimated volumes based on Worldpanel by Numerator UK OOH data, 52 w/e 15 June 2025).
Growth was seen across all key lamb dishes. Kebabs, which represent 50.6% of total lamb volumes sold in foodservice, grew +3.3% year-on year in this period, driven by shoppers purchasing them more frequently. Indian dishes grew +10.9%, meat centred meals +6.6% and lamb based savoury pastries +38%.

Pig meat foodservice performance
Total pig meat volumes in foodservice grew +1.4% year-on year for the past 52 weeks, accompanied by a +3.5% increase in average price per pack. This growth in volumes primarily focussed on dine-in dishes, with volumes growing at +4.1% (AHDB estimated volumes based on Worldpanel by Numerator UK OOH data, 52 w/e 15 June 2025).
Savoury pastries (e.g. sausage rolls), which represent 31.5% of total pigmeat dishes sold out-of-home, grew volumes +4.1% year-on-year driven by shoppers buying them more often and buying more volume per occasion.
A volume growth of +3.7% was seen for sandwiches, driven by shoppers purchasing them more often.
In contrast, breakfast dishes including pigmeat saw a -2.5% decline in volumes, primarily driven by consumers opting for this offering less frequently.
