6:00pm - 7:00pm

Join AHDB for a webinar looking at how the use of technology can aid disease detection and support efficient management of young calves.

 A recent AHDB funded project, run by SRUC in association with Blade farming, used various types of technology to determine if they could detect disease sooner than the stockman alone. In this webinar, we will hear from the results of this project from the researchers at SRUC. Colin Mason, SRUC Veterinary Services, and Timothy Potter, Westpoint Farm vets, will also be on hand to discuss optimum management of automatic milk feeders, how we can use data recorded by the machines and review common pitfalls.

 The webinar will cover;

  • Management of calves using automatic feeders including things to look out for and how to manage group size, number of feeding points, hygiene, milk feeding rates
  • Common questions and pitfalls when using milk feeders
  • Calf health project overview and findings
  • Use of technology to optimise disease detection

The webinar will last approximately 35 minutes, with time for questions at the end.

If you can’t make the webinar, please still register, as it will be recorded and sent to you afterwards to watch in your own time.
